Posted ImageGood and simple review from amazon: "Maynard James Keenan is known for venting his personal angst through the abstract metal of his former band Tool and the poisoned art rock of his current outfit A Perfect Circle. On the group's third full-length release, however, the songwriter drops the high drama and gets blunt: War is bad. Politicians are evil. The world is doomed. To support his case he delivers a handful of politically charged originals and unusual Eastern-influenced covers of crusty anti-war anthems like John Lennon's "Imagine" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On." You could never accuse Keenan of being predictable." --Aidin Vaziri

Tracks:
1. Annihilation
2. Imagine n
3. (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace Love And Understanding
4. What's Going On
5. Passive
6. Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie
7. People are People
8. Freedom of Choice
9. Let's Have A War
10. Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums
11. When the Levee Breaks
12. Fiddle and the Drum

Get it

A Perfect Circle Wins Popular Vote With 'eMotive'; Tops iTunes Charts on Strength of First Day Sales

NEW YORK, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- "eMOTIVe," the new album from Virgin Records recording group A Perfect Circle, was greeted with spectacular one-day sales upon its Tuesday arrival in stores.

The collection, which sees APC reimagining radical rock classics for a new generation, is the week's #1 album on iTunes. In addition, "eMOTIVe" is expected to debut as the top-selling rock record on next week's Soundscan charts.

The album's first single, a twisted take on John Lennon's "Imagine," is lighting up the switchboards at rock radio outlets coast to coast. The song is quickly bulleting up the chart at both Active Rock and Alternative formats.

Although I thoroughly enjoy Tool and A Perfect Circle, I am not all that interested in this effort. Even with Maynard's twist, both vocally and musically, it would not be enough to convince me that this is a worthwhile item to own. More than half of the songs do nothing for me as originals, or not enough for focused interest. I'll just sit and wait for the next Tool or A Perfect Circle release.

Speaking of which:

Was this just written a certain way, or has the band officially disbanded? My understanding was that Tool was still together.

By now, they should be just about complete on their next album (on the official website, they were saying the album was in progress). I know they claimed to have a bunch of material also left over from the Lateralus sessions.

Tool is still alive and well.

Aside from Tool, there are very few active bands that I like (and the only exceptions include A Perfect Circle, for example).

No Tool would be disappointing to say the least.

As an aside, a lot of fan sites are claiming that they had at least 10 tracks left over.

That's insanity. I hope that sees the light of day.

Here's live performance of 'Passive', which is featured on the Emotive album.

Thanks Dude.

It was good to read Ken again, too.
