It has emerged that in a hectic 24-hours pop superstar Britney Spears tied the knot to childhood friend Jason Alexander, before quickly filing an annulment at the Little White Wedding Chappel in Las Vegas.

It seems the wedding was concocted by the pair after a weekend of partying at the Ghost bar at the Palms Casino Hotel, and was seemingly a joke that went a little too far. The couple immediately signed an annulment after the ceremony in the presence of lawyers, People magazine reported.

Britney's record label Jive Records moved today to stop further speculation by releasing the following statement to Associated Press:

"On January 3rd, Britney Spears and a friend took a joke too far by getting married. Ms. Spears and Mr. Alexander have filed for an annulment which will become official on Monday, January 5."

George Maloof, owner of the Palms Casino Hotel, said that Ms Spears had been at the Palm Casino and that they tied the knot around 5.30am on Saturday (3rd January). He also added that claims that Britney was 'out of control' were unfounded.

"Nobody knew it was coming," he said. "I was with her the whole night, (and) none of those reports were accurate. She was just having a good time."

That's pretty funny.

Odds are that they conjugated the marriage, he should fight her for half. Men don't get enough opportunities like this.

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
