Their New CD -- 'Long Gone Before Daylight' -- Out Now on KOCH Records

NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 6, 2004 -- The Cardigans (Nina Persson -- vocals, Peter Svensson -- guitar, Bengt Lagerberg -- drums, Magnus Sveningsson -- bass and Lasse Johansson -- keyboard, acoustic guitar) are excited to announce their US summer tour plans in support of "Long Gone Before Daylight," out now on KOCH Records. The band will join Liz Phair, Katy Rose, and Charlotte Martin on the first ever Chicks With Attitude tour presented by Maybelline New York and produced by Monarch Entertainment Group with House of Blues. The tour kicks off in Chicago, IL at the House of Blues on August 4th and will end on September 3rd in Washington, D.C. at the 9:30 Club.

The Cardigans' new release "Long Gone Before Daylight" is their fifth studio album and marks a decade in their career as a band. They first hit the world stage in 1994 with their critically acclaimed debut release, Emmerdale. Fast forward ten years and the band has sold over 10 million albums and achieved certified global success. This will be their second stateside tour in support of "Long Gone Before Daylight," as they just wrapped a sold-out headlining tour of the US in May -- their first in over five years.

The US version of "Long Gone Before Daylight" on KOCH Records is different from the recently released European version. KOCH's US CD includes a value-added Bonus DVD featuring videos for the singles "For What It's Worth" and "You're The Storm," an interview and band documentary segment and three live performances from Scandinavia's largest annual concert, the Quart Festival. The bonus tracks found on import copies of the record will be included as part of the regular audio program on the KOCH CD. Additionally, the US release includes "For the Boys," an all-new bonus track that is exclusive to the domestic CD.

The band was selected to join the Chicks With Attitude tour by Liz Phair along with the producers and Maybelline New York. Beginning in August, the tour will hit some 20 cities from New England to the West Coast. Confirmed dates are:

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
