District 36 Presents Danny Tenaglia Oct. 22nd

Danny Tenaglia fans, you're in luck! The Grammy nominated producer is coming to none other than District 36 on Saturday, October 22nd. Danny will be spinning his bold, internationally recognized beats within a 14,000 square foot systemized sound space - the nightclub heart of the Garment District. Step inside District 36 today, it's almost impossible to believe this chic and gorgeous dance club was once a clothing factory. The transformation is epic, a true work of art that manages to be beautiful while maintaining simplicity.

House music fans know Danny Tenaglia as a groundbreaking producer who's taken the concept remix to a whole new level. His roots begin back in 1979, in the nightclub that was his regular haunt: Paradise Garage. That was where Tenaglia discovered the resident DJ, Larry Levan, who became his inspiration, and whose pioneer sound of post-disco, synthesized sound aesthetics paved the footsteps he would someday follow. Today, Tenaglia is known as the DJ's DJ, and among his most memorable remixes are "I Feel Loved" by Depeche Mode and Blondie's "Nothing Is Real But The Girl", and most epically, The Daou's "Surrender Yourself" (1993). His rehash of Green Velvet's "Flash" won him the "Best Remix" at the UK Muzik Awards, and also knighted him the title of "Best International DJ."

Danny gave us a little peek on what to expect, "Very excited to BE @ D36! I am going to drive that Monster Sound System all night long with LOTS of Techno, Tribal and the usual DT'isms!! Hope to see you all there on Saturday Oct 22nd!"

What are you waiting for? Buy tickets now to see the DJ of all DJs bring it: new school, old school, 30 years of mixing and remixing the dance genre - and get lost in time with Danny Tenaglia at District 36. Doors open 10 pm, 21+ for admission.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
