Im not usually one to like rock/celtic music (a la Gaelic Storm, even though they surprised me when I saw them on the Rock Boat last year) but a friend of mine just turned me on to Great Big Sea’s new album and it really is great! Its definitely more of a rock record through and through but it still has some of the celtic roots overtop. They’ve been around for a really long time though, can anyone tell me which albums theyd recommend??

They appear to have been more popular before 2002 - and there were some group changes after that - so I think I would look back at their early work. The following video is their most popular one on youtube - not sure what year the song was produced:
