"Something in the Air" was a UK #1 single for three weeks in July 1969. Numerous artists have covered the song, including The Mandrake Memorial, Labelle, Tom Petty, the Eurythmics, and Wilco.

According to Wikipedia, "Pete Townshend, The Who's guitarist, was the catalyst behind the formation of the band." "Originally titled Revolution, (the song was) later renamed to avoid confusion with the Beatles' 1968 (hit)."

The song only got to #37 on the Billboard USA charts. I liked the track. I remember hearing it quite a bit back in '69. I am surprised that it didn't score highter on the charts. Maybe it did well in our market and fared more poorly in other areas of the country. That vid is also from 1969 and was filmed at the Beat Club. I have a 38meg .mpg file of that same performance. The song is from the album, "Hollywood Dream" also released in 1969. PM me if you want a copy of the vid or the album in mp3 format.
Always right since the mid 1800s.
The future is so bright dim that I gotta wear shades night vision.
