Mungo Jerry are an English rock group headed by Ray Dorset. This song was inspired by "the poem Mungojerrie and Rumpelteazer, from T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats", according to Absolute Astronomy.

The song hit the top of the charts around the world and sold over 23 million copies.

Mungo Jerry had a huge hit with that one but I can't recall them having another hit. I have that album downloaded but it is one of those that I haven't listened to yet. I am too busy downloading to listen to all of them.
Always right since the mid 1800s.
The future is so bright dim that I gotta wear shades night vision.
