Summer in the City" was a 1966 hit single by The Lovin' Spoonful, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on August 13, 1966, replacing The Troggs' hit "Wild Thing".

Song came out almost 20 years before I was born. :S
I agree with Steve 100%, it is a great, great song!

Your thoughts on Joe Cocker's version?


I am not a huge fan, far from his best work.

The Spoonful was a wonderful group. They made some great records as Beatlemania was starting to die down.
