Mashable that there is a new music widget in the hood, and it's a cool one. "MxPlay allows you to "discover, share and buy music as well as create video mashups, but the coolest thing about it, is that its browser plug allows you to surf the web and play music off of other sites.

"The plug in works for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. It displays at the top of your browser, and its icon changes shape when you come upon a site that has music on it. You can then play the music that’s on the particular site in a little MX player widget that pops up. From this window you can select the music you’d like to save to a playlist on your MxPlay account. You can also go on to the next tab to select a YouTube video for creating a mashup directly in the pop up widget. There’s a third tab that lets you see what other users from MxPlay are currently listening to. No matter what song you’re listening to, or what video mashup you’re creating, you can change the acoustics of your music, letting you affect the very quality of your digital experience."

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
