My friend's band Amory!

The first cut, 'Spend The Night', is pretty catchy. The new song seems promising, but its a bit short at 30 seconds to tell. Overall, they're a bit pop for me, but for what they do, they're pretty tight and I think they should catch on with a younger audience. I think the drummer is a very good musician. And I think the singer/songwriter has talent - if he continues to hone his craft, they should do ok. In a fair world, they would have a record deal with one of the majors--but its probably better that they get to control their own futures.

They should try and get some songs in some tv shows to get more presence and hit the high school and college circuit. The band should give away their music and concentrate on making a living off their concerts and merchandise. I wish them much luck.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
