Offset and Cardi B were up against the odds, and probably surpassed even their own expectations "as a couple." And yet, even their marriage was kept secret for the longest time, not until Offset bent to one knee at a Philadelphia concert. Before long, Cardi B and Offset became the cause celebre for a shift in hip-hop's cultural identity - rappers embracing family life. Were Cardi B and Offset trading gender roles by function, or by nature, we may never know?

Page Six is reporting that Cardi B and Offset's, although founded on love, become too much of a business proposition as time went by. "They were really together, of course. But, after a while, it was more for business," an insider close to the situation told the publication. "They’re both very street, and they have smart people who are savvy and made it known that (being together) is a smart business arrangement for everyone."

The source added, "Celebrity couples play well. It was a lucrative business arrangement for both of them. They’re enormous stars. Their relationship was more of a wink-and-nod." Cardi announced the couple's split on Wednesday after reports began to surface implicating Offset on the cusp of a three-way liaison with Cuban Doll and an unnamed woman.
