Phoenix Announce New Album Ti Amo

Phoenix have announced their sixth studio album. It’s called Ti Amo, and it’s out June 9 via Glassnote. In a new New York Times article, guitarist Laurent Brancowitz described the vibe of the album as “summer and Italian discos.” Ti Amo was recorded in late 2014 after the release of Bankrupt! in 2013. According to the NYT article, the band holed up in “an old opera house near the Pompidou Center, in the heart of Paris,” installing recording gear in the space to do so. The news follows the band’s announcement of a world tour, which was previewed with a teaser that was soundtracked by new music. Then, they teased a new song called “J-Boy” (which opens the new album) and shared a snippet of new music in a Calvin Klein ad

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
