This is just a list I'm going to start doing suggesting some new artists and some more recognized ones as well with music that you should give a listen to. If you want singles/promos of the following songs, feel free to PM me. Here's this editions' TOP TEN (in no order):

  • Ras Kass - "Air Em Out"
This guy is known out in the west coast but is about to break boundaries and crossover into mainstream. His latest mixtape will be out in late November called "The Revenge Of The Spit" Mixtape.

  • Jiggolo - "Hey Shawty"
You can hear this track here. Jiggolo is an artist that I don't know much about, but I have heard this song he has out under Suave House/Capitol Records and I suggest you give it a listen.

  • Dem Franchize Boyz - "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It"
Dem Franchize Boyz are a group out of Atlanta with current singles out called "White Tee" and "Oh I Think They Like Me." The first two singles sounded similar but were still good. This track has the same basic beat, but doesn't sound like the two previous singles. They are on So So Def/Virgin Records under the guidance and production of Jermaine Dupri, so they should be here for a while. Their new album "On Top Of Our Game" should be in stores February 7th, 2006.

  • Chamillionaire - "Southern Takeover"
Chamillionaire, The Mixtape Messiah, is coming out from Houston. This track, which features Pastor Troy and Killer Mike, is a follow up to his initial single which features Lil Flip called "Turn It Up." Chamillionaire is signed to Chamilitary/Universal Records. He is about to blow up big in the rap game. His album "The Sound Of Revenge" hits stores November 22, 2005.

20-year-old TPain, short for Tallahassee Pain, is a singer/songwriter/rapper/producer and an up-and-coming R&B artist with a hit single already out called "I'm Sprung." This song is another hot track from this singer from Florida. T-Pain is currently signed Akon's Konvict Muzik/Jive imprint. His album "Rappa Ternt Sanga" will be in stores December 6, 2005.

This track features Twista and should be given a listen. Also listen to his 2nd single entitled "Gotta Go."Trey Songz' debut album is in stores now!

  • Daz Dillinger - "All I Need"
Producer/rapper Daz Dillinger, formerly of Death Row Records, is now on So So Def/Virgin Records with a brand new track that should get more ears to listen to him. This track, produced by Jermaine Dupri, is one that should be getting lots of spins on radio stations around the country. Look for Daz's new album to be in stores in 2006.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
