FKA twigs, A$AP Rocky, Arthur Russell Tribute, Sophie and P.C. Music, George Clinton, More Set for RBMA NYC Fest

Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York is returning again this year with a series of performances and lectures throughout the month of May. Today, the initial program has been announced. 

FKA twigs, A$AP Rocky, Dev Hynes, Sophie and PC Music, the Haxan Cloak, Pharmakon, Phosphorescent, Merzbow, Genesis P-Orridge, Forest Swords, George Clinton, Prurient, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, Cults, Holy Other, and many others are all part of it. Some highlights:

• FKA twigs will perform accompanied by ten dancers, and costumes by Alexander McQueen, on May 17-18
• A conversation with A$AP Rocky on May 7
• On May 29-30, "Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell" will take place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The tribute to the late songwriter/composer will feature performances from Dev Hynes, Cults, Phosphorescent, Thao Nguyen, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, Sam Amidon, and others.
• A conversation with minimalist composer/pioneer La Monte Young on May 6
• On May 8, Sophie and "pretty much the entire" PC Music roster will turn the BRIC House arts space into a "television network"
• A conversation with Parliament/Funkadelic's George Clinton on May 12
• "Nothing Changes: Raw Sound Transgression" brings together noise and industrial artists including  Merzbow, Genesis P-Orridge, Pharmakon, Prurient, Aaron Dilloway (Wolf Eyes), Ron Morelli, Marshstepper, and others on May 13
• Tri Angle Records will celebrate their fifth anniversary on May 15 with The Haxan Cloak, Evian Christ, Holy Other, Forest Swords, Lotic, Vessel, and more
• GHE20G0TH1K will host a party on May 2 with Sissy Nobby, Venus X, Total Freedom, and more
