The Pitchfork Review Issue Two Available Now, Features Kurt Vile/Watery Love Split 7"

Pitchfork is happy to announce the second issue of The Pitchfork Review, our quarterly, perfect-bound print publication. Buy the new issue or subscribe here.

The new issue features 200 pages containing:

- An Ellen Willis tribute/retrospective
- Features on Kate Bush by David Toop, Scott Miller by Franklin Bruno, Can's Holger Czukay by Geeta Dayal, Sun Kil Moon by Pitchfork Editor-in-Chief Mark Richardson, and Stanley Kubrick by Gary Giddins
A photo essay from Matthew Barney and Jonathan Bepler 
- 20 pages of comics from Kate Prior, Aisha Franz, Johnny Sampson, and others
- Republished stories from the web with new sidebar content/insights

The new issue also comes with a limited edition 7" featuring exclusive tracks by Kurt Vile and the Lovetones and Watery Love.

The Pitchfork Review is available via subscription at the publication's website and select newsstands domestically and internationally. Subscriptions are priced at an annual rate of $49.99 and single copies will be available for $19.96 in honor of the year that Pitchfork debuted. In addition to the four quarterly editions of The Pitchfork Review, subscribers will receive exclusive digital content, invitations to special events, and a limited edition subscriber gift.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
