1. Jan Daley and Michael B. Sutton, president of iMerica entertainment, have been working hard to bring you the next great smooth jazz album. To be released on April 1, “The Way of a Woman” is shaping up to be a phenomenal set of smooth jazz tunes. Jan Daley recently released her five song EP “When Sunny Gets Blue” and plans to complete the album with six more brand new songs this Spring. After years of work and mentoring with the Great American Songbook composer Jack Segal, Jan Daley’s renditions of the classic songs are truly top-notch. If you haven’t yet, check out Daley’s “When Sunny Gets Blue” EP. It sets a great tone of anticipation for the release of “The Way of the Woman” album and displays the phenomenal musicality and tone that Jan Daley has consistently displayed throughout her smooth jazz career. 2. Rising star Rhett May will make you an instant fan of Classic Rock with his unique twist on the genre. He brings his many cultural influences and personal experiences to the table, and I must say, as a fan of classic rock it makes for quite a musical experience! His talent as a song writer is also unparalleled in my opinion! He manages to discuss his life, his world views and his stance on drugs in almost all his songs in a way that doesn’t make you feel like an artist is imposing upon you. It’s quite refreshing to listen to and I doubt you will have anything to complain about. You can check out the music video for his anti-drug anthem “Violence of Ice” on Youtube. Rhett May is definitely an artist you should pay attention to. 3. SmoothJazz.com called bassist, Mitchell Coleman Jr., a fun and fiery passport to Funk; and I couldn’t agree more! His style of play is riveting and enjoyable all at the same time, and manages to transport you to a soulful time, where music is felt and enjoyed. His work is highly reminiscent of Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and even Larry Graham. No wonder I was captured by his sound. You can hear his influences in every note he plays and yet you are still able to hear his own funky additions. If you want to listen, check him out on Amazon here: http://bit.ly/Amazon-SoulSearching. He also has a Facebook at: http://bit.ly/MitchellColemanJr, Twitter at: https://twitter.com/MitchOnTheBass and website www.MitchellColemanJr.com if anyone wants to learn more about him.
4. Jazz Legend George Benson would most definitely tip his hat off to Smooth Jazz musician Jimmy Dale. Dale’s smooth take on jazz and soulful quality will most definitely draw you in and keep you a fan for years to come. His single “Dear Mr. Benson” pays homage to the musical effect Benson had on Dale. Dale is an accomplished musician and vocalist and is wildly impressive. I was initially apprehensive of listening to any new artists but Jimmy Dale grabbed a solid hold over my ears. You can get the chance to meet him this week on either Tuesday or Thursday at the Oyster House (12446 Moorpark St. Studio City, CA. 91604) from 9:30pm to 12:30am. I am going to watch him perform live at Tommy Bahamas (73595 El Paseo, Palm Desert, CA. 91608) this Friday (April 10) and I am beyond excited to witness his performance. Experience the heartwarming “Dear Mr. Benson” for yourself on iTunes. 5. I finally found a Jazz/Funk fusion artist that’s kickin it old school, just the way I like it. His name is Mitchell Coleman Jr., and the way he plays bass is such a throwback to all my faves like Marcus Miller, Larry Graham, and Stanley Clarke! What can I say; I’m a sucker for the classics. His single “Flow” really takes you back, and it’s no wonder cause it was co-produced by Michael B. Sutton who’s a veteran Motown producer. Listen to it on iTunes and you’ll totally see what I mean. I can’t believe I haven’t discovered this guy sooner, I mean his album “Soul Searching” has made it on to the Top Albums list on CD Baby this week! I’ve definitely become a fan for life. Mitchell has a Facebook, Twitter and website www.MitchellColemanJr.com if anybody wants to look up more info about him

11. Keith Chagall’s John F Kennedy tribute “Sail on Betsy Ross” is already beginning to top radio charts! Last week “Sail on Betsy Ross” was in the 3rd week of being the number 1 most added on the FMQB A/C chart on radio – tied with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry. This week Lady Gaga & Katy Perry are no longer on the chart and his single is the #1 most added again! 4 weeks running! This time tied with Kelly Clarkson, Plain White T’s, Gavin DeGraw & Daughtry – quite an accomplishment for an indie artist! The music video is a tribute to the late great John F Kennedy. With a ‘60s pop sound, Keith’s video incorporates footage of JFK during his short time as President. The video showcases what people loved best about JFK, his ability to bring a nation together and the normalcy of this legendary president. Keith’s new album speaks to the resiliency and heart of America. He writes music that will bring you back to the 60’s but keeps it fresh with meaningful lyrics about people in society today. “Sail on Betsy Ross”, available on Vimeo now here: http://bit.ly/Sail_On_Betsy_Ross_Vimeo is a hopeful song that reflects on a great President who showed us what great things as a nation could be accomplished when we work together. By the age of 10, she was singing and dancing with her family in a 20-member touring ensemble with one of Hungary’s noted Roma performers, Bongo Margit, throughout Europe. By the time she was 16, she and her older brother Paul Lakatos, a guitar virtuoso, were performing with violinist Sonny Walker, another Roma legend, who jammed regularly with her father and family at impromptu gatherings in her home. As an eclectic singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Reynolds has consistently avoided kowtowing to any brand of musical dogma throughout his musical career “I’m reminded,” muses Reynolds, “of the exhortation by none other than Bobby McFerrin that we should not live in the same musical room all the time. Walk around, don't get stuck.” There is no doubt that “Another Day Goes By” adheres to the open-ended artistic ethos that has sustained Reynolds since the beginning of his musical journey.
