Anthony Moore, aka house producer and singer Romanthony, has died. The cause of death has not been revealed, but his sister Mellony confirmed via Facebook that he passed away on May 7.

Moore was a key collaborator on Daft Punk's 2001 album Discovery, providing vocals on "One More Time" and "Too Long". In recent years, he had also worked with Teengirl Fantasy on their 2012 LP Tracer. He ran his own label, Black Male Records, and released four albums, ending with 2000's R. Hide in Plain Sight. Prior to his death, he had been working with Boys Noize, who have paid tribute via Twitter. They wrote that they had been working on new music together, including what they say Moore had called "the best song he had ever written."

In a 2001 interview, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo talked of Daft Punk's relationship with Romanthony (via Billboard): "We met him at the 1996 Winter Music Conference and became friends. What's odd is that Romanthony and Todd Edwards are not big in the United States at all. Their music had a big effect on us. The sound of their productions-- the compression, the sound of the kick drum and Romanthony's voice, the emotion and soul-- is part of how we sound today. Because they mean something to us, it was much more important for us to work with them than with other big stars."

In addition to two explosive performances from Kanye West, tonight's season finale of "Saturday Night Live" also featured a send-off to Fred Armisen, who left the show after 11 years. Armisen, in the guise of his punk character Ian Rubbish, lead an all-star group in a performance of an original song that seems to be called "It's a Lovely Day".

Joining Armisen and "SNL" cast members Bill Hader (also marking his final "SNL" episode), Jason Sudeikis, and Taran Killam were Armisen's "Portlandia" co-star Carrie Brownstein, Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis, Aimee Mann, Michael Penn, and the Sex Pistols' Steve Jones.

Armisen has a long history of involvement in indie music. Before launching to fame with "SNL", he drummed in the Chicago band Trenchmouth and was married to Sally Timms of the Mekons. He released a fake drum instructional DVD on Drag City under the name Jens Hannemann. He has worked with bands including Les Savy Fav, Man Man, Interpol, and Joanna Newsom. "Portlandia" has featured a long list of musician guest stars like Newsom, St. Vincent, Johnny Marr, Isaac Brock, and more, and Armisen and Brownstein brought the show on tour in 2011-2012. Earlier this year, he appeared on Rachael Ray's show singing the praises of Death Grips. Most recently, he released a free EP of Ian Rubbish songs and opened for Vampire Weekend.

On the season finale of "Saturday Night Live", Kanye West debuted a loud, relentless new track called "Black Skinhead", featuring screaming vocals and pounding drums, backed by projected images of snarling dogs and various slogans (including "new slaves" and "not for sale"). 

Update: Kanye has posted the lyrics to "Black Skinhead". See below. Also, the song samples Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People", according to MTV.

Last night, Kanye projected video of new track "New Slaves" on buildings across the world. He performed "New Slaves" as the second song of his "SNL" stint, but only the first half of the song (not the second, featuring Frank Ocean).

Both tracks are rumored to be on his new album, apparently titled Yeezus and out June 18.

Earlier this week, at a surprise show during Adult Swim's Upfront event, Kanye went on a rant about celebrity culture, saying "Somebody asked me, 'When you do SNL, is you going to do a skit about the paparazzi and shit? And humanize yourself?... I ain't here to apologize to no motherfuckers, man....I ain't runnin' for office." He then appeared in promos for the episode alongside Affleck and Fred Armisen.
